Biography:
After growing up on the North Shore,
I attended Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA, earning a BFA in
painting. While I was there my work went through many changes. I starting
out as a representational painter but later explored abstract and nonrepresentational
elements both in painting and printmaking.
I continued painting after college and came to realize that it was an
intrinsic part of my life. My work became very personal and began to
mirror my life and the different experiences I had. I traveled around
a bit and with each move came a new body of work to reflect what was
going on in my life and mind at the time. Also around this time I began
to take my photographs more seriously and started to print my own in
black and white.
In 1998 I moved to Central Massachusetts and a few years later in 2002
I met up with some other women artists and became a founding board member
of the Central MA chapter of the Women’s
Caucus for Art. I served on the board for four years while enjoying
some great experiences.
My focus now is primarily on my painting and I am currently working
on a series of paintings that include the figure as well as nonrepresentational
elements. Who knows where it will go from here!
